Privacy policy

SZN Ticket ("SZN Ticket," "we," "us," or "our") provides ticketing, payments, scanning, and reporting software for schools and their communities. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you visit sznticket.com, use our fan websites and mobile apps, purchase or redeem tickets, or use school admin tools powered by SZN Ticket.

Scope and audience

This policy applies to fans, parents and guardians, school staff who use our consumer-facing apps, and visitors to our public websites. School staff who access Ticket Hub, Platform Admin, or Scout are governed by their school's relationship with SZN Ticket and separate staff agreements; this policy focuses on consumer and fan experiences.

SZN Ticket operates in the United States. We do not offer EU-specific privacy rights tooling in this release.

Information we collect

Depending on how you interact with the platform, we may collect:

Account and contact information — name, email address, phone number (when provided), and authentication identifiers when you create an account, sign in, or are invited by a school.
Transaction information — event selections, ticket and pass types, order totals, payment status, refund status, transfer history, and scan or redemption records. Payment card numbers are processed by our payment partners; we do not store full card numbers on our servers.
School and event configuration — organization details, branding assets, schedules, pricing, gate assignments, and staff roles supplied by authorized school administrators. Fans generally do not submit this information directly.
Device and usage information — browser or device type, operating system, IP address, pages viewed, app interactions, and diagnostic logs used to secure the service, troubleshoot issues, and improve performance.
Communications — messages you send to support and transactional emails we send (receipts, ticket delivery, account notices).

How we use information

We use personal information to:

Provide ticketing, payments, scanning, wallet delivery, transfers, reporting, and customer support
Authenticate users and enforce role-based access
Deliver tickets, receipts, and event-related communications you or your school request
Detect fraud, abuse, and security incidents
Improve reliability and performance of our websites and apps
Comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests

What we do not do

We do not sell fan or school personal information. We do not use checkout flows to serve unrelated third-party advertising. We do not monetize your community by reselling attendee lists or purchase histories to data brokers.

Cookies and similar technologies

Our fan website uses cookies and local storage for essential functions such as sign-in, checkout, and security. With your permission, we also use analytics cookies to measure site performance. You can accept all cookies or choose essential-only cookies through the banner on the fan site. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal, we treat that as a request to disable non-essential analytics unless you explicitly opt in.

Our mobile apps do not use cross-app advertising identifiers and do not load third-party analytics SDKs.

How we share information

We share information only as needed to operate the service:

Schools you transact with — purchase, attendance, and related data relevant to the events you attend
Service providers — payment processing (Stripe), authentication (Clerk), email delivery (Resend), application and database hosting (Railway, Neon), website hosting and performance analytics on our websites (Vercel), and other vendors bound by contractual confidentiality and data-processing terms
Legal and safety — when required by law, to respond to valid legal process, or to protect users, schools, and the integrity of the platform

Age of users

You must be at least 13 years old to create a SZN Ticket fan account. We ask you to confirm this at signup. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children under 13 without appropriate parental consent.

School events may be attended by minors of all ages. Tickets for younger attendees are ordinarily purchased by a parent, guardian, or other adult. We process information necessary to fulfill those transactions at the direction of the school and the purchasing adult.

Security and retention

We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the data we process. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; please contact us if you believe your account has been compromised.

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, meet school contractual requirements, resolve disputes, and satisfy legal obligations. When data is no longer required, we delete or de-identify it consistent with our retention practices.

Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export personal information, or to object to certain processing. Fan purchase records may also be managed by the school that hosted the event.

To make a privacy request, email hello@sznticket.com. We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling a request.

California residents: we do not sell personal information as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). You may contact us with questions about our data practices.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we publish a new version, we update the version number and effective date shown at the top of this page. Material changes may also be communicated through the service. Continued use after an update becomes effective constitutes acceptance of the revised policy where permitted by law.
